I chose the practical major and now I’m bored

I’m a junior in college and picked accounting because everyone said it was safe. I’m doing fine grade-wise, but I feel no spark toward it. Like none. Part of me thinks work is just work and I should stop being dramatic. Another part of me worries I’m setting myself up for 40 years of checking boxes. I don’t even know what I’d switch to, which makes this harder.

I voted to switch your interest, if it's still possible in your junior year (usually ppl have to committ by end of sophomore I thought) then find something you love, regardless of the financial and time aspect, a little money and time now is nothing compared to pursuing a dream you don't love forty years down the line.

I picked switch toward interest. If you already feel this flat as a student, listen before the sunk cost gets bigger.

I voted to switch your interest, it's scary asf atp but you don't want to regret it in the future. Talk with your family and friends and advisors and use electives/internships to find something you truly love doing.
